Working on the Radio

For the most part I just do graphics, TV and videos. Stuff you can see. But every once in a while I get to do a little radio (very little) and run the board for a football or basketball game on theDove Radio. Usually Dan runs the board on these games, but if he’s on vacation or getting married or something like that, then I get to fill in for him.

It’s not a very difficult job and I no one ever hears my voice over the air, but it’s a fun change of pace. Our sports expert Jim grabs his cool little sound board with the cellular card and he goes out to wherever the game is at (tonight it’s just across town) and he and Mark do the whole sports thing. I come into the radio studio here at theDove and push a few buttons and move a few faders and suddenly Jim and Mark are on the radio. The music and commercial breaks are all run from here in the studio and I always have to try to remember to record the whole broadcast so that we can listen to it again later.

Easy peasy.

Anyway, I’m running the game right now and you can hear it on theDove Radio or on our website I’ll also be running the board for tomorrows game. Because we’re in a tournament right now we don’t know when the game tomorrow will be until after the game tonight.

UPDATE: Cascade won the game and the next game I run will be at 7:15 Saturday night.

Josiah Douglas isn't a super smart guy (even though he has a bachelor's degree), and he doesn't know a lot about God (his degree is in theology), but he does think a lot and sometimes he writes those things down so that you can read them too!
