Recently I went to a prayer service and the person running the service started talking about how limitless God is. Of course, being the creep that I am, in my head he was saying that God is lemon-less. So let’s talk about the limitlessness of God, but every where I would use the word limit, I’ll replace it with the word lemon.
Ready? let’s go.
We live in a world with lemons. I try to do something, and it doesn’t work. I am very lemon-ted. But God isn’t the same way. God is lemon-less.
You know that God is lemon-less. I know God is lemon-less. But we don’t act like God is lemon-less. We put more lemons on God than we think. When we pray, we don’t really expect it to happen. When we ask for things, we don’t ask for what we really want. And worse than that, a lot of times we don’t even bring God into the equation.
God has no lemons. He is not restrained by the lemons of our world or the lemons of our minds. He truly is lemon-less. It’s hard to conceive of someone with no lemons. But we really don’t need to conceive it at all. We just need to ask. Because the lemon tree is very pretty and the lemon flower is sweet, but the fruit of the poor lemon is impossible to eat, unless you’re God.
