I woke up and started getting ready for work. It was around 4:30 because I had to be at work at 5:00 like every morning. I grabbed my phone to put it in my pocket and a tiny voice (one could say a still small voice) said to take my charger with me. I shook it off and kept getting ready.
A minute or two later I thought, what if that was God telling me to bring my charger? I shook it off again and thought, why would God tell me to bring my phone charger to work?
I finished getting ready and went to work.
I get to work everyday at 5:00 and eat lunch around 10:00. A couple times a week I’ll just come home for lunch because our house is only a few minutes away from my work, but today I had brought a lunch and wouldn’t be coming home.
I get off work at 1:30 and today I had to go straight from work to a doctor’s appointment at 2:00. So I wouldn’t be home until around 4:00 or so.
At about 9:00, my phone’s battery was down to about 30%. It was down to 10% by noon and was dead before I left work.
I stopped by our house and let my phone charge for a couple minutes and got it to about 10% before leaving for my appointment. I was a minute or two late.
It’s weird that this morning I knew I should have brought my charger to work. I would have plugged it in when it was at 30% and it would have been fine until I got home at 4:00. But I shook it off.
God doesn’t just tell us where to move or who to marry and other big stuff. He knows everything. Even dumb things like what days our cell phones will need a mid day boost.
I need to learn not to ignore the little feelings that God gives me. It might not end up being God when I think I should bring my charger to work, but it’s not hurting anyone. And if it is God, it will probably help me out along the way.
Do you hear God nudging you to do little things? Maybe He is and you don’t realize it. Imagine how much better our lives could be if we start to realize when God is telling us to do something small like bring our charger to work.
My wife just had a similar experience! Go read what happened to her!
