The Trinity. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Godhead. Three in one.
The Father is God. We pray to Him and worship him. He is the most mighty and the most holy.
The Son, Jesus. God incarnate in human flesh. He’s fully God and fully man. Jesus died as the sacrifice to pay for the sin of everyone in the world.
And the Holy Spirit is a cool feeling that you get in your chest and makes some people talk in funny languages.
Is that right? Seems like that’s the way most people think of Him. But that’s not who the Holy Spirit is.
The Holy Spirit is God. He’s not just a good feeling or a powerful force. He’s a person with a personality. He is God in every way that Jesus and the Father is.
He is all knowing. He is all mighty. He is all powerful. He is Good.
When we talk about the Holy Spirit, we need to talk about Him with the same respect we talk about the Father or the Son. He isn’t just some force that God sent after Jesus ascended and He isn’t a lesser God to Jesus or the Father, He is God. The Holy Spirit is God Himself as an omnipresent Spirit that helps us, guides us, empowers us and talks to us. When you hear God speaking to you or you feel God’s presence, that’s the Holy Spirit.
I know you know this (I hope you do), but even so, Christians seem to act like we don’t know. We need to treat the Holy Spirit with the same reverence that we treat the rest of the Trinity. After all, He is God.
